Air India stops bookings till April 30

NEW DELHI: Air India has stopped taking bookings for both domestic and international flights in April and is selling tickets for flights May 1 onwards. Senior airline officials say they are awaiting a government decision on whether flights resume when lockdown ends on 11.59 pm of April 14, or the same is extended, to decide on resuming sale for April flights.
AI stopped taking bookings for this month since Thursday.
Other Indian carriers like IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir are selling tickets for domestic flights on and after April 15 while international flights on offer are from May 1. International travel will begin in phases after the lockdown is lifted, depending on what the corona situation in other countries is.
A senior Air India official said: “If we accept bookings for flights and there are very poor passenger loads for some flights (of April), then it may not be commercially viable to operate those flights.
