Air India is like a startup as it’s being reinvented, says CEO Campbell Wilson

Campbell Wilson, chief executive and managing director of Air India, insists on calling the former national carrier a startup. This despite him grappling with a myriad of legacy issues on a daily basis as he straddles the task of reinventing the airline to take it back to its days of glory. Wilson looks for deep cultural changes as Air India, under the Tata Group since January 2022, has embarked on refurbishing its fleet, website, operations, revenue and data management, and even staff. Most recently, it has placed an order for 470 planes.
