Air India Express to operate extra flights to Sharjah to fly passengers hit by Dubai ban

MUMBAI: Dubai has banned all Air India Express flights for a period of 15 days after two passengers who had COVID positive test reports boarded flights to Dubai on August 28 and September 4.
For passengers affected by this ban Air India Express said that it has introduced additional flights to Sharjah to accommodate the affected passengers. “The affected passengers who have booked to fly to Dubai are also being given the option to rebook to a future date,” said Air India Express spokesperson.
On Thursday, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority in a letter sent to Air India Express named the passenger concerned who was seated on 4C on board flight IX 1135 on September 4. The said passenger was issued a COVID positive test report on September 2 by a diagnostic centre in India, said the letter naming the passenger and the diagnostic centre.
