Air India Express announces Rs 10 lakh compensation to family of deceased
MUMBAI: Air India Express will be paying a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next kin of the deceased passenger, said an Air India official. In case of deceased passengers below the age of 12 years, the airline will pay Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the next kin. Apart from this the airline has announced a Rs 2 lakh compensation for critically injured passenger and Rs 50,000 to passengers injured in the accident, said an AI official.
“The airline is adequately insured and will pay compensation in accordance with applicable law at the appropriate juncture,” said Air India. The airline has established a passenger information centre and a toll free number for family or friends of those on board flight IX-1344. The toll free number is 1800222271.
