Air Asia starts ops from Lucknow, to connect 6 cities by next month
LUCKNOW: Low cost carrier Air Asia has finally set base in Uttar Pradesh and began operation of flights to three sectors on Friday.
The airline, an alliance between Tata Sins Private Ltd and Air Asia Aviation Group Ltd, has started operations of five daily flights from the state capital to Delhi, Goa and Bengaluru and will begin an additional three flights to Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata from September.
The inaugural flight to Delhi was flagged off by chief minister Yogi Adityanath from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport.
Emphasising on the government’s aim to bring “seamless connectivity in the state for development and inclusive growth”, the CM said that as the best state in terms of connectivity, UP would also open up new employment opportunities for the youth in the state.
