Affordability

In a suo moto proceeding, the bench of Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC), headed by its chairman Desh Deepak Verma, ordered Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) to buy cheaper power from the power exchanges. It noticed that UPPCL is not buying adequate power from the exchanges whereas it was buying expensive powers from other sources.
