Adani, Gujarat Urja settle row over PPA
The Supreme Court on Tuesday disposed of a plea to reconsider an earlier 2019 top court ruling upholding Adani Power (Mundra) Limited’s move to terminate a power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited following an out-of-court settlement between the two sides.
As per the settlement, Adani will resume power supply to the state-owned entity and withdraw a ₹10,000 crore claim against Gujarat Urja. The earlier order, upholding the termination of the PPA, was passed by a bench led by Justice Arun Mishra who has since demitted office. Gujarat Urja had challenged this by way of a curative petition in September 2021.
