Adani debuts in metal industry as Mundra’s copper unit begins operations, co to invest $1.2 billion in first phase

Adani Enterprises’ subsidiary Kutch Copper on Thursday commenced operations through the first unit of its greenfield copper refinery project at Mundra, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

Marking the Adani Portfolio’s debut in the metal industry, the company will invest nearly $1.2 billion to set up a a copper smelter with 0.5 MTPA capacity in the first phase. Overall, the plant will have a 1 MTPA and will be set up over two phases.
