AAP stages protest for electricity, water
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jharkhand unit organised a sit-in and one-day hunger strike under the ‘Electricity- Water Movement’ near Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. The party during its sit in and one day fast said that the policies made by the Municipal Corporation, Urban Development Department and State Government were just to lure people.
“Power cuts in the city range from 4-6 hours every day. 80 per cent of the households are unable to procure water from the pipelines and even after standing in the scorching heat in queues, people fail to get water. The 30 month plan to be completed by 2012 remains unfinished. The Budget was increased by two-thirds from Rs 234 crore to Rs 380 crore and to accomplish this task, a blacklisted company of Hyderabad was hired,” Spokesperson of AAP Jharkhand, Rajesh Kumar said.
