95% of industrial units have shifted to CNG: Delhi government

NEW DELHI: Delhi government on Thursday said 95% of coal and oil-driven industries have shifted to compressed natural gas (CNG) in just three months, which also resulted in reducing air pollution in the capital.
According to a report submitted by government think-tank Dialogue and Development Commission, of the 1,542 industrial units in Delhi that were either coal or oil-driven, 1,457 shifted to the greener fuel in just one quarter while efforts were being made to make the remaining 85 CNG-adaptive.
DDC submitted the report to chief minister Arvind Kejriwal recently.
Speaking on the findings of the think-tank, Kejriwal said Delhi was the only state in the country where air pollution registered a significant dip in the last few years.
