90-day old flyover in Ahmedabad develops potholes after rain

AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad urban development authority (Auda) has issued notices to the contractor and consultant of Sanathal flyover, which was inaugurated on March 10 this year. Due to heavy rains, potholes have developed on the upper part of the bridge, causing concern among authorities. Also, the highways and transportation department of SVNIT, Surat, has been asked to check the quality of the bridge’s construction.

The 1.3km-long flyover was inaugurated in March 2023, for Rs 96 crore. The recent waterlogging during the rains caused potholes to develop on the bridge.

In response, Auda officials, accompanied by a team of labourers, visited the flyover to carry out repairs on Tuesday.
