‘59% owners of registered EVs given subsidies’
The Delhi Transport Department said that around 59 per cent of the owners of 1,39,945 registered Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the national Capital have been provided subsidies under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy.
The transport department said as many as 57,796 owners of eligible EVs have not been provided subsidies due to various reasons. The department has cited three main reasons for the non-provision of subsidies that includes non-eligibility of vehicles under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy and the non-furnishing of proper documents by the owners.
In a written response to the question raised by MLA Ajay Mahavar in Delhi Assembly earlier this week, the department also informed that the subsidies has also not been provided in a few cases because owners have not applied for it.
