4 coal blocks of Odisha auctioned
The Centre has successfully auctioned four coal blocks in Odisha for commercial mining under the third Tranche of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act.
Recently, 10 coalmines were put up for auction, out which four belong to Odisha — Bankhui, Bijahan, Meenakshi and Utkal C.
The Yazdani Steel and Power Limited was the highest bidder for Bankhui having a reserve of 800 MT while the Mahanadi Mines and Minerals Private Ltd was the top bidder for Bijahan having a reserve of 327.05 MT.
The Hindalco Industries Limited was the top bidder for Meenakshi (285.23 MT) and the Jindal Steel and Power Ltd for Utkal C block (196.347 MT).
