203 cases of cheating linked to Delhi airport since 2020
NEW DELHI: As many as 203 cases of fraud were reported from IGI Airport from 2020 to September 15 this year. More than 290 people were arrested in such cases.
Delhi Police (airport unit) said, in the current year, about 80 forgery and cheating cases were reported that included fake passport and visa cases. According to data accessed by TOI, 114 people were arrested till September 15 in connection with these 80 cases.
A detailed analysis of the data shows that 69 people were arrested in 40 forgery cases this year. In 2020, 49 such cases were reported in which 95 people were nabbed. “We have found that many unemployed youths are being targeted by gangs involved in the preparation of fake visas and passports.
