On Dec 17, 2017, a tribal village in Chhattisgarh’s poverty-hit Balrampur district got electricity connection for the first time ever. The Jokapatha village, situated in mountainous terrain, had been deprived of power supply since independence. The village is located about 400 kms north of the state capital Raipur. The State Government led by Chief Minister Raman Singh has set a target of providing electricity in all the villages by mid-2018.
