2 players electrocuted – Hockey coach arrested for negligence
A hockey coach was arrested and forwarded to court by the Rajgangpur police on Wednesday for negligence in connection with the death of two budding hockey players who were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live electric wire on Tuesday.
The father of one of the deceased players lodged a complaint with police against coach Sunil Tigga, following which a case was registered and Tigga was detained after a probe.
The villagers of deceased Sujal Ekka and Birendra Kujur had demanded Tigga’s arrest and compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to the players’families or else they would not allow postmortem to be conducted.
