2 fall to death from train after fight for footboard space in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: Two passengers who were travelling on the footboard of an unreserved compartment of the Nagercoil – Coimbatore Express got into a fight over space and fell to their death on the tracks in the wee hours of Sunday.

The deceased, S Muthukumar, 32, from Maruthamuthur in Tenkasi district, was travelling to Erode while K Mariappan, 48, from VOC Nagar, Kovilpatti, was going to Coimbatore. Police quoting eyewitnesses said the two were sitting on the footboard of the rear compartment of train No. 22667 Nagercoil – Coimbatore Express.
