1,905 km roads will be constructed in the State

With financial assistance of New Development Bank (NDB), 1,905 km roads worth Rs3,250 crores will be constructed in the State. Out of this, Public Works Department has approved tenders of the construction works of 1722 kilometers of roads, worth Rs 2,427 crores. The Department is giving final shape to the process of approval of the tenders of remaining 183 km roads worth Rs 279 crores.

As many as 46 works of road construction worth Rs 2,324 crores are in progress under the Central Road Fund Scheme in the state. Under the Road Fund Scheme, 183 kilometer long roads are being constructed. The Public Works Department has approved 23 new works of Central Road Fund this year. These works are of 314 km roads for which the department has approved tenders of Rs 1992 crore.
