109 flights to & fro from Mumbai as schedules revive

MUMBAI: The ban on scheduled international flights was lifted on Sunday after two years. The city airport handled 109 international arrivals and departures on Sunday, the first day of recommencement of scheduled flights, said a spokesperson of Mumbai International Airport Ltd.

Until Saturday, when international flights were operated under the ‘bilateral air bubble agreement’, the airport handled an average of 98 international flights a day.

The first international arrival was Indigo 6E-9183 from Sharjah that landed at 12.17 am with 172 flyers. The first international departure was operated by Thai Smile, flight WE-338 to Phuket, which departed at 12.29 with 45 passengers.
