1,000 more govt buildings to get solar rooftops, save Rs 55cr every year

New Delhi: Hundreds of schools, several hospitals, 42 fire service buildings, 24 DJB offices, 71 MCD buildings and 45 DUSIB offices are among nearly 1,000 Delhi govt buildings identified under the city’s rooftop solarisation programme and will get solar panels in the next four months.

They are expected to generate 60MW of green energy, helping govt save around Rs 55 crore annually in electricity bills and cut 46,000 tonnes CO2 emissions every year, officials said
