100 e-buses idle away at depot while Delhi grapples with transport crunch
NEW DELHI: Around a hundred electric buses have been parked for over a month at a DTC depot in Mayapuri, gathering dust, while the city has grappled with a shortage of buses, DTC unions have said.
These buses are part of the 1,500 electric buses that are to be inducted into the city’s fleet by the year-end.
An office-bearer of the DTC Karmachari Ekta Union said: “It has been over a month since these buses are lying there. One of them is running on trial on a route from Hari Nagar to Anand Vihar.”
