Vande Bharat sleeper trains project gets a boost; TMH-RVNL consortium sorts differences, signs deal

Vande Bharat sleeper: The consortium partners consisting of Russia’s TMH Group and India’s Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), who had the lowest bid for the sleeper design Vande Bharat trains tender, have successfully resolved their disagreements. RVNL announced that it has now signed a Share Purchase Agreement with TMH’s subsidiary, Metrowagonmash, and Locomotive Electronic Systems (LES), a Russian equipment supplier, reported ET.

On Tuesday, ET had quoted a government official, familiar with the situation that the two parties have been urged to proceed with the contract signing for the sleeper design Vande Bharat trains tender. With a bid of Rs 120 crore per train, TMH-RVNL offered a much lower price compared to competitors such as BHEL-Titagarh (Rs 139.8 crore),
