Vande Bharat Sleeper to Amrit Bharat AC: What new trains Indian Railways may get in 2026
Over the past few years, Indian Railways has been working to make train travel faster, smoother, and more comfortable with premium services like the Vande Bharat Express. Now, a fresh wave of projects planned for rollout in 2026 aims to further upgrade both daytime and overnight journeys. The most awaited among them is the Vande Bharat Sleeper, designed to offer a superior long-distance experience that could go beyond even the Rajdhani Express. Alongside this, the Amrit Bharat Express, NaMo Bharat trains, and India’s own indigenous bullet train are set to redefine travel for every segment of passengers. A prototype hydrogen-powered train is also gearing up for trial runs.
