US safety board investigating Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 emergency landing
The National Transportation Safety Board said late Friday it was investigating a depressurization incident that forced an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 to make an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Portland, Oregon.
Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, which had been bound for Ontario, California, suffered the depressurization soon after departing at 5:06 p.m. Pacific Time and landed safely back at Portland at 5:26 p.m. with 171 passengers and six crew, according to the airline and Flightradar24 data.
