UP targets 10,700 MW solar projects by 2022

The Uttar Pradesh government is targeting to set up solar projects for generating 10,700 megawatt solar power by 2022. The focus of solar power generation will be on Bundelkhand region and a green energy corridor will be set up to create 4,000 MW solar power in the region.

This was stated by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while addressing the Renewable Energy Invest Meet and Expo-2020 at Gorakhpur on Friday.

Reiterating his government’s priority to develop alternative and non-conventional sources of energy, the chief minister said that the government would achieve the target of setting up 10,700 MW solar power projects in the state by the year 2022.
