The Parama flyover will remain closed to traffic between 11.30pm and 6am for two weeks from Monday to facilitate painting of the structure before the Bengal Global Business Summit, officials said.
The summit is scheduled later this month.
“The flyover will be closed for a thorough paint work along both flanks at night. Commuters can access it as usual from 6am till 11.30pm,” said an officer of the traffic department.
The project, being executed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), formally commenced on Monday night.
The two-day Bengal Global Business Summit will be held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town on April 20 and 21.
