Three mega railway terminals to redraw Hyderabad’s travel map
Hyderabad: The city is set for a major rail infrastructure boost, with South Central Railway (SCR) proposing three mega terminals at Nagalapalli, Jukal, and Dabilpur — each designed to handle future traffic for the next 50 years and significantly decongest existing stations.
The highlight is the proposed Nagalapalli terminal, which will become India’s third-largest railway station with 20 platform lines, behind only Howrah and Sealdah. Positioned between Lingampalli and Vikarabad along the ORR, it will also house 14 pit lines and 24 stabling lines, serving trains bound for Maharashtra and Karnataka, including Mumbai, Pune, Bidar, Hubballi, and Belagavi.
