Temple, mazaar demolished to make way for flyover

Delhi’s Bhajanpura chowk Sunday morning to pave the way for the construction of a flyover.

According to police, the decision to remove the two structures was taken at a “religious committee” meeting a few days ago to widen the Wazirabad Road for Saharanpur Highway and a proper dialogue was held with the residents and local leaders. A large number of police and CRPF personnel were deployed during the demolition drive to prevent any untoward incident.

The Hanuman temple and Dargah existed on roads near Bhajanpura bus stand on the main road. The demolition operation was carried out early in the morning.
