Telangana witnesses spike in power demand, to reach 16k MW

HYDERABAD: Telangana power utilities continued to register the highest ever demand for the last couple of months, breaking its own records. The discoms have registered the highest power peak demand 15,254 MW at 10.03 am on Tuesday in the state.

A couple of weeks ago, the power peak demand was around 14,700 MW.

Officials said the rise in power demand in the state was due to soaring day temperatures, agriculture usage and also industrial usage.
