Tech glitch disrupts metro rail services

Chennai: Office-goers and college students on Monday morning were forced to wait for long hours and travel in a crowded metro train after services were disrupted for more than three hours due to a technical glitch. CMRL spokesperson said L Girirajan the disruption was due to an issue in power supply between Wimco Nagar depot station and Wimco Nagar station. At around 6am, trains operated towards Wimco Nagar depot station were stopped. Trains were operated on the other line for every 18 minutes between Wimco Nagar and Tollgate. A team rushed to the spot to rectify the fault. Services were resumed as per timetable on both upline and downline after 9am.
