Suburban train halted in Guindy, passengers stranded for 22 mins

The train was halted near Guindy railway station at 11.38am, leaving passengers stranded for nearly 22 minutes before services resumed at noon. A railway official said the delay was due to monsoon preparedness work. “Tree branches were touching the overhead cables along the Tambaram–Beach stretch. For passenger safety, the signal near Guindy may not have been cleared while maintenance was under way,” he explained.
