Storage adoption critical for integrating renewables into the grid: ICRA

Chennai: The adoption of energy storage systems will be crucial for India to integrate its rapidly expanding renewable energy (RE) capacity into the national grid, rating agency ICRA has said.

It estimates that the share of power generation from renewables — including large hydro — will rise to over 35% by FY2030, from 22.1% in FY2025, supported by an expected 200 GW of fresh capacity additions.
