SpiceJet clears ₹442 crore debt, completes equity share allotment to Carlyle Aviation Partners

SpiceJet on Wednesday said it has completed the allotment of equity shares to global aircraft leasing and financing firm Carlyle Aviation Partners, a move that has helped the carrier shave off Rs 442.25 crore, or USD 50 million, in liabilities from its balance sheet while also giving it long-term financial stability. The company had announced on September 11 that it had reached a settlement with the firm for the restructuring of certain lease dues amounting to USD 121.18 million, adding that the settlement would help the airline secure USD 89.5 million in liquidity and aid its ongoing restructuring efforts.
