Southern Railway to operate first Amrit Bharat Express in TN

Chennai: After months of delay and concerns over possible reallocation, Southern Railway is finally set to operate its first Amrit Bharat Express, a long-distance non-A/C train. The weekly service, numbered 16601/16602, will run between Erode in Tamil Nadu and Jogbani in Bihar, covering a distance of over 3,300 km across eight zones.
According to a Railway Board order issued on September 4, the train will depart Erode every Thursday at 7.00 am and return from Jogbani every Sunday at 7.30 am.
