Solar panels damaging MCD bldgs: Councillor
New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s initiative to lease out spaces at its buildings for the installation of solar panels has helped generate revenue and save on power bills. However, it has also triggered concerns over damages to the rooftops. Councillors have claimed that due to a lack of maintenance after the installation, reports of rooftop leakages have been received from several places.
These panels were mostly installed on the roofs of hundreds of MCD primary schools. In the last standing committee meeting, Mahipalpur councillor Inderjeet Sehrawat said, “During my visit to schools in Mahipalpur, staff shared these problems.
