Hyderabad: Cyclone Montha has severely disrupted train services in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, forcing South Central Railway (SCR) to cancel 139 trains and divert 29 services.
On the vital Vijayawada–Warangal rail corridor, which links the southern states with northern India, services came to a halt after the Dornakal railway station in Mahabubabad district was submerged by floodwaters, with the water level rising to platform height. As a relief measure, the SCR arranged special buses in Khammam to transport passengers in coordination with the TGSRTC.
