After ensuring that the earlier target for providing electricity in every village in 1,000 days (announced on Aug 15, 2015) had been nearly achieved, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Oct 25, 2017 had set another task – provide electricity connection to every household of the country by Mar 2019. Later this deadline was preponed to Dec 2018.
