Rs 22L power theft: Man, son booked

MUMBAI: A Vasai man and his son have been booked for stealing electricity for their personal consumption for over a decade.

The Vasai police on Saturday registered a case of theft against the two. A flying squad of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited in March raided the bungalow belonging to a man and his son in Sandor village in Vasai. A theft of 97,689 units of power between March 2011 and 2023 was found. The theft of power was found to be worth Rs 22.42 lakh.
