Rooftop solar installations seen doubling to 4 mn by March 2026 on PM Surya Ghar boost
The government expects rooftop solar installations to more than double to 4 million by March 2026, supported by the recently introduced utility-led aggregation model under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, said people aware of the development.
The target is part of the broader aim to install 10 million rooftop solar units by March 2027. So far, around 1.7 million households have installed rooftop solar systems, according to latest government data.
