Reliance halts Russian oil imports for its only-for-export refinery amid US pressure

Reliance Industries on Thursday said that it has halted the import of Russian oil for processing at its only-for-export refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat, as the company moves to comply with European Union sanctions. India’s biggest oil refiner added that exports from the same refinery will be entirely made from non-Russian oil starting December 1.

The European Union, a big market for RIL, imposed wide-ranging sanctions targeting Russia’s energy revenues, including measures that restrict the import and sale of fuels produced from Russian crude oil.
