Rain, cool weather lead to dip in Karnataka’s energy consumption

Bengaluru: Karnataka witnessed a dip in electricity consumption from April to Aug compared to last year due to consistent rainfall and comparatively cooler weather over these months.

According to data from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), 8,746 million units were consumed in Jan compared to 8,356 million units in the same period last year. This trend continued until March, when monthly power consumption reached 10,436 million units.
