Kolkata: Anticipating a huge rush during the pujas, especially after the launch of the new metro lines, Eastern Railway’s Sealdah division has decided to implement a series of crowd control measures. Howrah and Sealdah stations are now connected by metro, and there are eight railway-metro interfaces.
To accommodate pandal-hoppers, Eastern Railway will run trains all night from Ballygunge to Sonarpur and Kalyani to Sealdah after 11 pm. Two rakes will be stationed at Kalyani and Sealdah for uninterrupted services every half-hour, officials said.
