Railways conducts Patna-Kolkata Vande Bharat trail run in 6.30 hours. Service may start by August end

In a good news for traveller in Patna and Kolkata, the trial run of the Vande Bharat Express train along the Patna-Jhajha-Asansol-Howrah route was successful compelted on Saturday, marking a significant step toward its operationalization.

As per a ToI report, the trial run was completed in six and a half hours. “The train commenced its journey from Patna Junction at 8 am and arrived at Howrah at 2.30 pm. Covering a total distance of 535 km within approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, the train made scheduled halts at Jasidih and Asansol stations. Upon its return journey, it departed from Howrah at 3.55 pm and arrived at Patna Junction around 10.35 pm,” Birendra Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway (ECR) said.
