Railway ticket rule: Only Aadhar-authenticated users can reserve online general ticket for first 15 minutes from Oct 1
Only Aadhar authenticated users will be able to book reserved general rail tickets through the IRCTC website or the app during the first 15 minutes of bookings opening for any train starting October 1.
Currently. Aadhar authentication is needed for tatkal reservation. Bookings for trains begin 60 days prior to the scheduled departure.
The move has been introduced to prevent unscrupulous elements from reserving tickets within minutes of the booking window being opened. Popular trains on busy routes are generally booked within the first 10 minutes.
