Railway Protection Force increases vigilance as fatalities on Delhi-NCR tracks rise due to trespassing and unsafe behaviour

New Delhi: In the past two-and-a-half years, 1,321 bodies were found on railway tracks in Delhi-NCR, shows Railway Protection Force (RPF) data. As a precautionary measure, RPF has heightened vigilance in five stretches that reported the most fatalities.

Between 2023 and 2025, the number of deaths on train tracks saw an uptick. In 2023, authorities discovered 533 bodies while the following year, the figure stood at 548. Till June this year, 240 bodies have already been found.
