In a push to the mega infrastructure projects in Pune, Maharashtra government on Thursday assured it will give priority to the proposed new international airport at Purandar and expedite the completion of Pune Ring Road.
In the Budget tabled in the State Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the finance portfolio, said the planning for the new international airport at Purandar is underway.
The cost of building the Pune Ring Road, aimed at reducing traffic congestion, is estimated at Rs 27,000 crore. In the 2022-23 fiscal, Rs 1,000 crore were provided, and more funds will be made available for land acquisition this year.
