Punjab Cop to shell out Rs 55,000 for power theft

Caught indulging in power theft through ‘direct kundi’ via underground wires, a Punjab cop has to shell out Rs 55,000 as penalty.
“The enforcement teams carried out checking of specific residences in Patiala, during which, police official Gurbaj Singh Cheema was caught indulging in power theft through direct kundi via underground wires…Rs 55,000 penalty has been charged for the violation and the cable used in power theft has been seized on the spot,” said a spokesperson of the Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) on Wednesday.
