Prove Kamarajar Salai is not a highway, HC tells government

The Madras High Court on Tuesday wanted to know by Wednesday whether Kamarajar Salai, which runs parallel to the Marina beach, had been declared a State highway or not. The query was posed to decide a public interest litigation petition filed against the construction of a commemorative arch right across the road to mark the birth centenary of former Chief Minister and AIADMK founder M.G. Ramachandran.
