Power demand soars in Delhi, but still below pre-Covid level

NEW DELHI: With the temperature dipping to 5 degrees Celsius, the power demand in the city also touched the highest this season on Monday.

According to data from the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC), Delhi’s peak power demand clocked 4,803 MW at 10.22am. The power demand also broke last year’s record for December when it was 4,723 MW.

However, power demand is yet to touch the pre-Covid level in December 2019 (5,245MW).
