Poor roads a challenge for admn

This year’s Rath Yatra celebration has been a big challenge for the district administration here owing to the condition of the roads at many sensitive places.

The conditions of the main road, the bypass and the Nuapada road of Tarbha town under Subarnapur district are in an utterly bad shape either due to the underground sewerage system or drain construction and poor maintenance.

With the monsoon already in, the Rath Yatra organising committees at different places have raised concern about the smooth conduct of the festival, which are being held for more than 10 days.

Due to the ongoing sewerage board work and drain construction, the Nuapada road has become extremely muddy and narrow for last six months. It is becoming extremely difficult for people to commute.
